I am Muslim... you are?

Dina Zaman had just launched her new book titled " I am Muslim"

Had a chance to read about a couple of pages in the bookstore (still figuring out whether to buy or not this title for couple of personal reasons). My guess is this book meant to "enlightened" the book readers out there on what is the mening of living as a muslim in this crooked country. The confusion of the titles and stories surround by ignorance of the storyteller ( I use this instead of author as this is more of a re-production of other people stories) in the book suggest that it wasn't published/wrote with the mind to uphold the purity, and "keagungan" islam but rather a collection of stories about these so call "muslim" living in their crooked way of "Islam".

It is sad that there were nowhere in the book stories about pious Ustaz/Ustazah and ulamak we have in abundance here in our lovely "crooked" country. About how they love this religion and living they way it should be. Rather than stories of normal crooked Malay/half malay living in pretext of islam still holding "mandi bunga" ceremony, visiting the bomoh, drinking socially during company's annual dinner, and praying twice a year (the eid's) instead of five times a day (in congregation at best).

So who are you telling people that you are muslim as "I am muslim"...
