Polyandry

We have always heard of the word "polygamy" but rarely the word "Polyandry"

It is basically meant a woman having more than one husband at one time. It is being practice is some secluded part in the world (I have seen the documentary in NG). However, it startled me to read an article about a movement of polyandry fatwa in Syria. Some of these Syrian imams believe that for some reason, polyandry is acceptable in Islam.

It was quoted as saying that some of the verses in quran make reference to men in establishing the requirement of zakat, prayer and fast but the order is understood to apply to women as well. Hence, the rule giving the rights for men to marry more than one should itself apply to the above arguments. In addition there were some argument based on DNA or something which I can rarely understand anyway.
